Directions to the University of Birmingham Practice

The University of Birmingham Practice is located within the University of Birmingham Sport and Fitness building.  This new facility is situated on the Bristol Road (A38) opposite Bournbrook Fire Station in Selly Oak.  

Please note that the postcode relates to the University of Birmingham rather than the Sport and Fitness building specifically.  Using the post code in your SatNav WILL NOT direct you to our precise location.

BY FOOT

The entrance to Sport and Fitness is located by the South Gate Entrance to the University on the Bristol Road. Walk through the black iron gates onto the campus and take the path on the right side of the road. This passes by the front entrance of the building which is on the right hand side of the path.

BY CAR

Free parking is located in the multi-storey car park on the left hand side just past the Sport and Fitness building on Edgbaston Park Road (if approaching from the Bristol Road A38 end).  This is just past the Service Yard entrance to Sport and Fitness, which is also on the left. Take a ticket from the barrier and bring it with you to your appointment.  It will be validated at no cost by the reception team before you leave.  Exit the car park on foot at the opposite end to that which you entered in your car.  Your will exit onto a red brick path with steps down to the left which take you to the front entrance of the building.  Enter the building and wait in the reception to be met by your Physiotherapist.

BY RAIL

The University has a dedicated train station, located at the Westgate entrance to campus. Up to six trains an hour depart for the University on the cross-city line between Redditch / Longbridge and Lichfield. Sport & Fitness is a ten minute walk from University Station across the campus. From the station head towards the Clock Tower (Old Joe). Continue forward towards the East Gate entrance. When you reach the ring road in front on the East Gate, bear right down the slope. Join the path on the left side of the road before it bends round to the right. This path will continue down steps to the entrance of Sport and Fitness.

BY BUS

Numbers 61, X62 and 63 travel to the University of Birmingham Edgbaston campus. Sport & Fitness is located by the Southgate entrance to campus. The services all run frequently from the city centre. Online bus timetables for 61, X62 and 63 are available on the National Express West Midlands web site.

Directions On Arrival

You will be met by your Physiotherapist in the reception to the building.  .  You will be escorted through the barriers and up to the second floor to the physio clinic where the appointment will proceed.  On leaving, you will be escorted back down to the ground floor and through the barriers.  If you have driven, you will be able to validate your ticket with the reception staff at this point, enabling you to exit the car park without charge.
